A playful but dismissive quip against Kanye West’s twitter tirade has sparked a whirlwind of drama around Ariana Grande. In a since-deleted tweet, Ariana Grande said:
guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u
Kanye wasn’t too amused and addressed the tweet with his own:
All of this foolishness weighed on my mental health so @ArianaGrande you know I got love for you but until you’re ready to really make sure everyone’s ok don’t use me or this moment to promote a song
Ariana apologized to Kanye, for potentially triggering him with her comments. But this didn’t stop Pete Davidson, her ex-boyfriend from chiming in on the conversation. He released a lengthy post congratulating Kanye for defending himself and being open about his mental health:
Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about health. I’m seriously disgusted.
Things took a serious turn after this message was released. Ariana Grande responded with another shady quip, apparently criticizing Pete for “weaponizing mental health.” This spurred on her fans to bash him, to the point which he revealed he no longer wanted to live.
In another shocking turn, Nicki Minaj jumped into the picture defending and supporting Pete Davidson and Kanye West against the apparent bashing from some of Ariana Grande’s fans. Ariana Grande was forced to make another apology, and offered an olive branch to Pete Davidson, saying that she will be there if ever he needs her.
