We expected Janet Jackson to deliver a response to her shocking portrayal in “The Bobby Brown Story,” and it looks like she now has. According to the Jasmine Brand, she claims that the depiction of her relationship with Bobby Brown was highly exaggerated in the film and that their interactions were never sexual. According to a close source to Janet, the two:
“never had a sexual relationship and that Janet would consistently brush off Bobby’s advances.”
I guess there are two sides to every story huh? Now Janet wasn’t the only woman to express her displeasure with the first installment of the film, Bobby Brown’s sister, Leolah Brown, took to her social media to slam the film, claiming that it portrayed a bunch of lies about Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina. Leolah specifically called out Bobby’s wife, Alicia Etheredge, and claimed that she purposely painted herself as a loving, caring, heroine, when in fact she has been controlling and possessive with Bobby Brown, even attempting to isolate him from his blood family.
If the account of Janet Jackson is true, it appears like Bobby Brown may have a bit of selective memory when it comes to certain details of his past. After all, much of his young adult life was fast-paced and drug-fueled. Bobby’s sister Leolah may also have a point regarding her gripes with the narration of the story – it is entirely possible that Bobby Brown, co-producer of the film series, purposely set out to paint his current wife Alicia Etheredge in the best possible light. All that said, the series is gripping and Part 2 was as emotionally strenuous as Part 1 was utterly dumbfounding.
