Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio show on Apple Music is currently receiving a lot of buzz. Every episode seems to trend on Twitter for one thing or another and last Thursday’s episode was no different. Nicki Minaj had two special guests on the show – Tyga and Jason Derulo.
Nicki Minaj pressed Tyga about whether or not he believes he had a hand in making his ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner become the icon that she is today, and he very willingly spilled his answer. According to Tyga, Kylie initially learned much of what she knows about implementing aspects of black culture into her brand from him, and these things have made her successful. He stated:
You need culture. You should adapt, because you need black people to f*** with you. Because you need culture. If you ain’t got black people behind you ain’t got nothing. Ain’t nobody gon’ listen, because you can’t influence nobody.
It’s hard to disagree with him here. Among other things he mentioned that he was partially responsible for the naming and color choices of Kylie’s lip kit line, and also mentored her on certain fashions and hairstyles she could wear to appeal to the urban demographic.
Nicki also had Jason Derulo on her show, and she uncomfortably forced him to give up intimate details about his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, singer and actress Jordin Sparks. Here, things got very awkward as she pressed him to talk about their former sex life, and who broke up with who. Chile…
This show is crazy, in a very good way! This woman is slightly crazy, in a very good way! She has the potential to transition into the next Wendy Williams of radio if things continue as they are. As they stand, I think we are all tuning into Queen Radio to hear more of Nicki’s crazy antics.
