Nicki Minaj Drops ‘Queen’ and Shades the Whole Industry!

Today, Nicki Minaj dropped her highly anticipated, 4th studio album, ‘Queen’. The album consisted of songs she had been writing for the past year, and notably contained several barbs and subliminal disses directed toward various counterparts in the music industry. The most notable shade was thrown in the track ‘Barbie Dreams’. Here Nicki took cues from the late Biggie Smalls’ track ‘Dreams’, and perhaps the 50 Cent track ‘How To Rob’, and she detailed fictional romantic encounters with men throughout the industry. Barbs were shot at such names as Drake, her ex-beau Meek Mill, Eminem, Tekashi69, Quavo, Karrueche Tran, 50 Cent, and many more. The song is a legitimately hilarious lyrical exercise, which was obviously done in ‘good’ humor, but that wasn’t the only shade Nicki was throwing on this album. Subliminal shots appeared to be thrown the way of Cardi B on songs like ‘Hard White’ and ‘LLC’. Check out the video above for a full recap of the verses.

Empressive Take:

Has this album catapulted Nicki Back to the top spot in female rap? For the time being it looks so; it was certainly full of compelling moments. Is Nicki Minaj doing more sneak dissing of Bardi? …Sure seems like it. Overall I give the album a B-, good effort Onika!
